Churros Popular Street Food in Spain for Breakfast
Popular street food in Spain for breakfast or dessert, the churro’s origin is debated. Simple yet delicious, the semi-sweet dough is fried until the outside is crispy, brown and delicious and, tender on the inside. Sprinkled with cinnamon sugar for the perfect amount of sweetness. #Yum
1 cup all purpose flour
2 T sugar
2 T coconut oil
1/4 t salt
oil for frying
Sugar coating mix:
1/2 cup sugar + 1t cinnamon
In small saucepan bring 1 cup water, sugar, salt and coconut oil to boil, till oil is melted. Remove from the heat. Mix in flour till well mixed, and dough ball forms.
Heat oil to 375 F.
Place the dough into a pastry bag with a large tip or cut a corner of a ziploc bag. Pipe 3 inch long stripes. Fry till golden, about 7 min. Dry on paper towel. Roll in sugar coating mixture.
